It’s that time of the year again; time for allergies, blooming flowers, and the Nature of Spring with Rudy Mancke! Get ready for a brand new fun-filled year with the University of South Carolina’s Naturalist-in-Residence. Held in front of the McKissick Museum on the Historic Horseshoe.
As always, this event is free and open to the public! Feel free to bring items of interest for Rudy to examine, but no live critters please!
Starting in the 1970s, Rudy Mancke operated as the on-air naturalist and co-host of South Carolina ETV’s NatureScene. National broadcasts of his field trips generated a large fan-based that last for nearly 50 years!
His experience, intricate knowledge of the various ecosystems in our region, and general love of nature make him an amazing host! In addition, he has won numerous awards for his dedication to the naturalist field of study.
