SC Farm Fun this Fall!

The fall harvest not only gives us some of South Carolina’s most delicious veggies, fruits, meats, and spices, but just in time for the holiday season. Many farms listed here have hours subject to change, so please call ahead before you make the trip! When visiting the farms listed below this year, remember to get your Agritourism Passport stamped while there. Collect enough stamps to win farm-themed prizes!

Celebrate National Alpaca Day at the farm! Come learn about the farm’s animals, see live demonstrations, and shop at the farm store at this free event. Handwashing stations and plenty of acreage will be available on site. Keep a safe llama space of 6 feet from others!
Call ahead to schedule a farm tour! Virtual field trips set to start in the fall.
Products: Alpaca fleece, chicken and duck eggs, yarn, scarves, fingerless and regular gloves, and hats.

Enoree River Vineyards and Winery

An intimate winery that sells hand-crafted wines and wine slushees! Enjoy a relaxing afternoon sipping ten different ERW wines, only $12 per person. Walk-ins for wine tasting available for groups less than 7, more than7 need to call ahead. Unpack the Porch events are scheduled to take place September 27th and throughout October, ending November 1st. Live music, delicious food, & wine of course!
ERW hopes to host their Annual Harvest Fest October 10th! The fest includes live music, vendors, and food trucks.

Fire Barrel Farm

Small family goat dairy farm, raising Nubian goats and Berkshire/Hampshire pigs. Planted pumpkins for their fall patch, and is currently constructing a 1920s themed cottage museum for visitors to explore the farm’s progress throughout the years.

Hickory Hills Milk

Since the 1950s, the 4th generation dairy farm has milked their herd of Holstein cows. Looking forward to hosting farm nights the first 4 Tuesdays in October from 6- 9pm, $5 a person. Corn maze, horse mule wagon tractor ride, live band, and a bbq trailer.
Products: All natural, low-temp pasteurized, non-homogenized milk- buttermilk, chocolate milk, and clemson blue cheese.
Open: Year-round Honor Cooler is open 7am- 7pm, bring a cooler with ice. Cash only.

Myersart Studio and Farm

The 90 acre farm and pottery studio provides nature walks, bird watching, and a variety of beautiful, handcrafted pottery pieces available for purchase. Come spend a peaceful day at the farm and observe nature’s serenity. Highfired dinnerware, decor, vases, and wine glass holders. Unique clay earrings, necklaces, and pins. Plenty of winter greens like swiss chard, bok choy, kale, brussel sprouts, green beans, lima beans, Potatoes, and butternut squash.

Old McCaskill Farm

Make sure to venture down to this working family farm for a fun outing and educational experience! Now a Harvest Host member, campers and RVs can enjoy a 24 hour stay. For a less DYI trip, reserve a night at their cozy B&B. Lunch on the Farm is served every Friday at 11:30am where visitors can pre-order, take-out, or pick-up their farm fresh meal and even eat it on the farm! They produce lamb, beef, goat, chicken, duck (all medication and hormone free), canned goods – radishes, jellies, pickles (all canned at the farm), wool blankets, gift cards, and more.
Open: Year-round Thursday and Friday from 10am -6pm. Bed & breakfast open 24/7.

South Carolina State Market

State farmers market sells seasonal produce from a number of local vendors: apples, beans, beets, butter beans, cilantro, figs, broccoli, leeks, leafy greens, muscadines grapes, okra, onions, parsley, peaches, peas, peppers, pecans, radishes, squash, sweet potatoes, watermelon, zucchini, tomatoes, and cucumbers.
Open: 6am-6pm year-round

The Alpaca Experience
Fairfield County
3283 Longtown Road | Ridgeway
Features animals like alpacas, horses, rabbits, quail, sheep, goats, pigs, and chickens. Shop at the farm store for their popular alpaca socks, knitted hats, yard products, shirts, and rabbit and quail meat. Farm days are usually held every Saturday, $5 a person. Stop by the first Saturday of each month to take part in the larger farm days where vendors, food, and crafts will be out for visitors! Grab a snack bag to feed the animals for $1!
Open: Open every Saturday from 9am to 4pm. Any other day, call to set up a day to come out to visit or pick up products.
