On Friday May 1, 2020, the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission plans to reopen the outdoor trails and greenspaces at their parks, beginning at 8:00am. This welcome news allows park visitors to enjoy walking, jogging and bicycling at Saluda Shoals Park, Melvin Park, Crooked Creek Park, Seven Oaks Park and Mungo Park. The boat ramps at Saluda Shoals will reopen as well. (Saluda Shoals will be open from 8am – 8pm)

Folks who have a Fisherman’s Pass will be allowed 24-hour access to the park beginning at 12:00am on May 1st.

Use a restroom BEFORE you go to the park: Because it is very difficult to effectively clean facilities and equipment, and to monitor social distancing, their community buildings, meeting facilities, dog park, picnic shelters, playgrounds and restrooms will be closed at this time.

Park visitors are encouraged to practice hand hygiene, social distancing, and bring their own hand sanitizer and water bottles.
