Hands down, our rivers- and the banks among them- are the most beautiful and striking natural asset of the Columbia area. If you enjoy a quiet walk or bike ride, head to one of the twelve sections of the Three Rivers Greenway!
So, what exactly is the Three Rivers Greenway?
The Greenway is an interconnected series of riverside paths that run parallel to the scenic Saluda, Broad, and Congaree Rivers. Each offers its own qualities, but together, they form a beautiful trident that provides the people of Columbia with a place to enjoy the natural world around them.
The paths run for a total of 12.5 miles, traveling through Columbia, West Columbia, and Cayce! These locations have never before been accessible in such a manner, and we are confident that the Greenway will provide that bond.
New sections are added as funding and work is accomplished, including two new sections opening this Spring: the Boyd Island Sanctuary and the Saluda Riverwalk. The Saluda Riverwalk connects an area along the Saluda River with the Columbia Canal.
We’re very excited about these new additions…check back on this website to stay updated on their openings!
Due to the great length of the Riverwalk, its dutiful creators have ensured that access is both easy and accessible. You can park at any of these 5 locations to access the Greenway:
