The annual ranking by U.S. News & World Report of high schools in the United States puts the leaders ahead in categories like college readiness (based on 12th graders taking and passing an AP (Advanced Placement) or IB (International Baccalaureate) exam), math and reading proficiency and performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth and graduation rate.
