Richland One: Language Immersion Program

January 2, 2019

Are you interested in your child receiving a bilingual education?

In the Richland One Language Immersion program at Carver-Lyon Elementary, students are immersed in a Spanish or Mandarin Chinese learning environment for approximately half of their instructional time.

Language immersion students learn through an innovative, standards-based curriculum that fosters their development through dual language into self-confident learners and global citizens.

The Richland One Language Immersion Program is now enrolling students from Pre-K through first grade.

This program is open to students through Richland One School District, and bus transportation is provided.

In addition to the Language Immersion, all students will be a part of the school-wide Leader in Me Magnet Program. The Leader in Me process will help teachers unleash each child’s full potential as a well-rounded global citizen.

Students at Carver-Lyon will use Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, to learn and practice integrity, initiative, work ethic, cooperation, confidence, and service to the community.
