Congaree National Park

Dreher Island State Park

This diverse park boasts nearly 350 acres of land, and a whopping 12 miles of the Lake Murray Shoreline. Featuring scenic hikes, fishing, boat ramps, picnic shelters, campsites, and more, Dreher Island State Park is an experience you don’t want to miss. Sesquicentennial State Park

This beautiful wildlife preserve rests just miles outside of Columbia. Featuring 1,419 acres of land, a 30-acre lake with a two mile walking trail, and a 3.5 mile loop for hiking and biking. Visitors can also rent boats between 9am and 4pm! The park is open from 8am – 6pm daily, with extended hours during DST.

Riverbanks Zoo & Garden

This world-class zoo features more than 2,000 animals on display, a stunning botanical garden, river trail, and so much more! Take a self-guided tour through along the Saluda River, where you can learn about the rich history of the midlands’ ecosystem.
